I am facing a similar problem but on windows 8.1. I have access to a hadoop cluster. I have installed the HortonworksHiveODBC driver for windows 64 bit. When i create a System DSN using 64 bit ODBC Administrator and test the connection it says test successfully completed. Although when I go to MS Excel-> Data -> From Other Sources i do not see the system dsn that i created for connecting to my hadoop cluster.
My System config:
Windows 8.1
Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013
System DSN that i created:
server: abc.hadoop.com
Port: 10000
Username:abc
Pwd:abc
