I am trying to find the official Hortonworks document for enabling SSL – making HDFS secure is the first part of that. We already have a cluster using Kerberos for authentication, but I am trying to understand the other options like integrity (checksumming?) and privacy (encryption?)
I can find http://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/HDP2/HDP-2.2.0/HDFS_Admin_Tools_v22/run_datanodes_non_root/index.html#Item1.1 which more to do with running Datanodes as non-root (which I beleive requires security as an alternative to using the priviledged ports) but that page mentions

except that when I choose that link I get an error. “Enable SSL on HDP Components.”
Googling and using the search facilities have not helped
