ssh connection refused 127.0.0.1 port 2222

I’m trying to complete the tutorial here: http://hortonworks.com/hadoop-tutorial/exploring-data-apache-pig-grunt-shell/

but when I try to follow the instructions and ssh in with “ssh root@127.0.0.1 -p 2222;” the connection is refused.

I am using Windows 7 Pro SP1
Oracle VM Virtual Box 4.3.28r 100309
and HDP 2.3 Tech Preview_1
