HDP 2.0 – SparkR (Spark 1.4)

I am interesting to test SparkR part of Spark 1.3 in HDP 2.3 (sandbox).

can we use the spark commnity 1.4 inside HDP 2.3? https://spark.apache.org/releases/spark-release-1-4-1.html

and how to make it not compete or conflict
