Hi Ckran,

Ranger will store it’s audit logs into HDFS.
You can disable this if you wish. For non-production systems it’s not always viable to keep every record of every transaction which occurred in HDFS – but this is why the audit logs get extremely large very quickly.

You can remove these from HDFS if you please.
