Hortonworks Hadoop version is mostly what is shipped in Apache with a few patches on it for issues that are in progress with patches posted onto the JIRA if any (although I have not tested it with plain Apache installation). TDCH has three versions availalbe, one for the HDP 1.3.x versions which is for Apache Hadoop 1 versions, one for HDP 2.x, which is for Hadoop 2.2.0 version and one for HDP 2.1 (which is based on Hadoop 2.4.0).
For the sqoop interface, you need to get the Sqoop connector that Hortonworks built on top of the TDCH. The documentation that ships with the Hortonworks Teradata connector describes how to implement incremental imports
