For what it’s worth – I was having the same “Could not resolve org.apache.hcatalog.pig.HCatLoader” issue with the tutorial as others mentioned above. I noticed that if you use the PIG helper, the HCatalog helper inserts “org.apache.hcatalog.pig.HCatLoader”, while the tutorial text uses “org.apache.hive.hcatalog.pig.HCatLoader”. My issue was resolved by adding the missing “hive” package into the class name. Does PIG helper need to be updated to use the correct class?
