Hi All,

Before restart all the Ambari process were green and no alerts.
After restarting (no configurations changed) I suddenly start seeing alert in the Ambari for Hive Metastore Process.

When I click on the error message I see following error message.

Metastore on METASTOREHOST_NAME failed (Execution of 'ambari-sudo.sh su ambari-qa -l -s /bin/bash -c 'export PATH='"'"'/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/lib/ambari-server/*:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/var/lib/ambari-agent:/bin/:/usr/bin/:/usr/sbin/:/usr/hdp/current/hive-metastore/bin'"'"' ; export HIVE_CONF_DIR='"'"'/usr/hdp/current/hive-metastore/conf/conf.server'"'"' ; hive --hiveconf hive.metastore.uris=thrift://METASTOREHOST_NAME:9083 --hiveconf hive.metastore.client.connect.retry.delay=1 --hiveconf hive.metastore.failure.retries=1 --hiveconf hive.metastore.connect.retries=1 --hiveconf hive.metastore.client.socket.timeout=14 --hiveconf hive.execution.engine=mr -e '"'"'show databases;'"'"''' was killed due timeout after 30 seconds)

While I login on the metastore host machine, and see that mysql server is up and there also corresponding database for hive metatore but Ambari shows this error.

If you can share your experience on fixing this it would be really helpful.

Thanks,
Arpan
