Hue Install/Configuration Issue

I’m trying to get Hue installed within my HDP 2.1 cluster using the manual steps provide at this link: http://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/HDP2/HDP-2.1-latest/bk_installing_manually_book/content/rpm-chap-hue.html

After making the changes up up to 9.2 (page 42), it tells you to restart the services. When I restart the services, Hive fails to start. Looking at /var/log/hive/hive-server2.log, it looks like the failure is related to “permission denied” trying to create /tmp/hadoop-$USER_NAME$HUE_SUFFIX. This directory is specified in core-site.xml as hadoop.tmp.dir and is exactly as the instructions provide. Is there a different format that should be specified such as {$USER_NAME} {$HUE_SUFFIX} or something else? The Cloudera instructions use something like {$user.name}{$hue.suffix}, so I thought perhaps the {} may be required but are missing from the documentation.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
