Note, before attempting this, make sure Ambari agents remain stopped for the entire migration. Stopping the server is a good idea too. If you don’t do this, agents will report new machines and they will be registered with Ambari thus essentially duplicating servers in Ambari under the old and new names. If this happens, when you export the Ambari database, you’ll need to manually determine which duplicate keys need to be deleted (you’ll get duplicate key on re-import of Ambari database into Postgress… ask me how I know :).
